@TheABD We care very much about safety of pedestrians but number of deaths involving cyclists is tiny and longer sentences won't provide deterrent. Meanwhile 1800 people a year die on UK roads in collisions with motor vehicles. And parliamentary time for legislation is very limited.

positively about safety. Helps prepare ground for
effective measures, eg traffic calming. @PACTS would like evidence
criteria applied to all road safety interventions, particularly those involving
a lot of money and effort.
The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS) is a registered charity. It supports the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Transport Safety.
Its charitable objective is "To protect human life through the promotion of transport safety for the public benefit". Its aim is to advise and inform members of the House of Commons and of the House of Lords on air, rail and road safety issues.
