The PACTS Westminster Lecture on Transport Safety returns on 16 November 2026, with Lee Waters and Phil Jones speaking on “Adopt or Justify: the case for 20mph from Wales”.
Three years after Wales introduced its default 20mph speed limit on restricted roads, the lecture will explore the evidence, experience and policy choices behind the change, and what the Welsh experience can tell us about developing and implementing major road safety policies.
The lecture will provide an opportunity to hear different perspectives on the policy, consider the evidence and experience from Wales, and discuss the wider lessons for road safety policy and decision-making.
The Westminster Lecture is a PACTS members-only event.
