The 22nd Westminster Lecture on Transport Safety will be given this year by Dr Jillian Anable, Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Transport Research, University of Aberdeen. The title of her Lecture is “More Haste, Less Speed: changing benhaviour for safety and sustainability”.
The presentation is available in two parts here and here.
Dr Anable is an expert in behavioural change and sustainable travel choice. She has worked extensively understanding why people make their travel choices and how they can be persuaded or encouraged to travel differently. In the lecture she will compare behavioural changes in road safety and sustainable travel and ask what lessons can be learnt from the approaches adopted.
Given the emphasis of the current government on “nudging” people’s choices and on behavioural change in the new Strategic Framework for Road Safety, this promises to be a timely and informative contribution to the wider debate. Join us at Church House to find out more.
