The theme of this conference is passenger safety and security on public transport. There are two specific issues that will be covered: first, how both passengers and the public merge safety and security in their own minds; and secondly, how we maintain safety and security in a growing network.
Confirmed speakers include Andrew Evans, Lloyd’s Register Professor of Risk Management at Imperial College, London on the whole journey risk; Steve Burton (Transport for London) on improving perceptions of safety and security; Andy Baker (Director, Davis Associates) on way-finding at stations; and Julia Stafford (ex Crime Concern) on security at stations, based on research commissioned by RSSB.
