Alcohol Interlocks: “Safe and Sober” Scotland event, Tuesday 4th July, Edinburgh
The European Transport Safety Council, together with Road Safety Scotland and PACTS will hold a round-table event to raise awareness amongst policy makers, the private sector and key opinion leaders on how to develop a systematic approach to reducing alcohol misuse in road transport.
The agenda (now finalised) includes the use of alcohol interlocks, enforcement actions and rehabilitation programmes. See the ETSC website here: http://etsc.eu/r64lY
More about Safe and Sober:
In 2007 ETSC started a campaign on drink driving, called “Safe & Sober”. The objective of the Safe and Sober campaign is to raise awareness amongst policy makers, the private sector and key opinion leaders of the need for a systematic approach to reducing alcohol misuse in road transport, especially in poorly-performing EU member states. The project is based around a series of national events in EU countries bringing together senior policymakers, ETSC partners, relevant business people, safety groups, police and the press. The project receives funding from Alcohol Countermeasures Group.
