The HS2 Funding Referendum Bill 2014-2015 is a Private Members Bill sponsored by Mr Christopher Chope (Conservative MP, Christchurch) and passed it’s 1st reading in the House of Commons on 07.07.14.
The 2nd reading the House of Commons is scheduled to take place on the 23.01.14.
The Bill in question makes the provision for a national referendum on whether the proposed construction of the HS2 railway should be supported financially by the UK taxpayer.
