Jay read law in Bristol and completed his Solicitor’s Final Examinations in 1994. He gained extensive knowledge about the operation of government and political system working with the water regulator, Office of Water Services.
Since joining the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association in 2000, Jay has successfully led on the delivery of the three key drivers of BVRLA membership
- status and credibility
- voice of the industry and
- information and guidance
Jay is particularly adept at lobbying Government to help promote the benefits of the industry and consults regularly with policymakers to ensure fairer legislation is produced to support sustainable growth and safer roads. Jay uses his extensive network of stakeholders and MPs across Whitehall and Westminster to help secure a good deal for the fleet sector and negotiates hard for his members and their customers to protect them from ill-considered and ill-thought laws.
