The Safe System Network recently brought together representatives from a number of local authorities for a dynamic in-person workshop, hosted at Jacobs’ London offices — with special thanks to Kate Carpenter and her team for their generous hospitality.
The Safe System Network was established to build and strengthen collaboration between local road safety partnerships actively working to embed the Safe System approach. With a national Road Safety Strategy still awaited, the importance of cross-authority knowledge sharing has never been greater.
The core of the session focused on evaluating organisational progress against the Safe System’s Ten Steps. Attendees worked in small groups to reflect on their own local delivery, followed by a wider discussion to share insights, obstacles, and future plans.

This workshop demonstrated the power of collaboration in driving forward safer, more sustainable road networks. As the Safe System Network continues to grow, so too does its collective knowledge and impact.
