Marcus Cook

Marcus has been a pilot all his working life. After leaving school he joined the Royal Air Force where he spent 12 years flying the Tornado GR1 and instructing on the Hawk. After leaving the RAF he joined a charter airline where he flew the Boeing 757 for seven years.
He joined the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) as an Operations Inspector in 2005 where he has investigated numerous events in the UK and overseas. He holds a current Airline Transport Pilot Licence and a private helicopter pilot licence. He is the AAIB’s lead on Unmanned Air Systems.
The AAIB investigates civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents within the UK, its overseas territories and crown dependencies. The purpose of any investigation is to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident, it is not to apportion blame or liability.
