We are delighted to welcome Dr Alix Edwards as the new Vice Chair for the Vehicle Design Working Party at PACTS. Dr Edwards is a Principal Engineer at Apollo Vehicle Safety and brings 24 years of extensive experience in vehicle and road safety, including eight years dedicated to revolutionising bus safety.
Dr Edwards has a diverse background that spans inclusive design, the generation of insights from collision data, insurance claims, vehicle usage, and rigorous testing and trials. At Apollo, she is leading initiatives to enhance bus safety through improved driver cab design, refined passenger interiors, and optimised crash avoidance and protection features. Her work builds on a comprehensive understanding of the challenges posed by road traffic collisions and the practical, commercial, and regulatory realities needed to achieve effective casualty reduction.
Renowned for mobilising diverse teams, championing evidence-based decision-making, and promoting unbiased stakeholder representation, Dr Edwards embodies the values and mission of PACTS. Her passion for learning, building connections, and innovating based on a robust evidence base will be invaluable as we continue to advance vehicle safety.
