Thanks to everyone who joined us at our spring conference, ‘Driving Change: Safe System Strategies for Eliminating Work-Related Road Deaths‘ in March. The conference looked at the role industry plays in work-related road deaths and what next steps might be, bringing businesses together to collectively look at additional actions that should and could be taken. We heard examples of key risky behaviours and best practices currently in use to reduce the risk of death and serious injuries. It was a fascinating day and the start of a much bigger discussion around best practices in the industry.
Particular thanks go to our speakers (Jonathon Passmore, Steve Gooding, Heather Ward, Mark Cartwright, Tavid Dobson, Alex Glassbrook, Kate Carpenter CEng FICE FCIHT BSc(Psych), Richard Cuerden, David Crundall, Scott Wilding, Joseph Duggan, Hannah Cordts von Lowis of Menar, Kieren Tickner, Nick Fleming), our partners National Highways, Driving for Better Business and the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, as well as the RAC Foundation for helping make it such a successful day!
The conference has now been published and can be accessed here.
