Nicola Christie is Professor of Transport Safety at the Centre for Transport Studies, UCL. She specialises in understanding safety through a public health lens looking at the individual, social, economic and environmental factors that lead to crashes. Her current research focuses on understanding the safety of cycling using sensors with embedded artificial intelligence, understanding occupational road risk including the safety of motorcyclists working in the gig economy and the road safety of children with SEND. She is currently President of the London Road Safety Council.
