2018 road casualty summary figures published by DfT – PACTS provides breakdown by administration

The Department for Transport published the detailed 2018 road casualty data for Great Britain on 27th September 2019. This showed: 1,784 people died in road collisions – a 1% decline on the previous year – continuing the “plateau” in GB road deaths since 2010. 25,511 seriously injured casualties reported. The newsletter summarizes the department’s recent announcements on road safety including PACTS research project on seatbelts in collaboration with Direct Line Group, and the appointment of Michael Ellis as new Minister of State at the Department for Transport. The Department for Transport today (26 June 2018) published the Road Safety Management Capacity Review. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/road-safety-management-capacity-review This is a report detailing the findings of the independent Road Safety Management Capacity Review by Systra.  The DfT committed to commissioning this work in the 2015 Road Safety Statement.
